You can adjust color balance, if you wish. It may be lower or higher for you depending on your monitor. It does need to be very high for games like the Sims 3, which can look even darker than your desktop. On my screen, to give you an example, it needs to be this high.
Your gamma will need to be very high to get rid of the dark screen issue. It will show you a short explanation, that sadly won’t be very useful on an Apple monitor.
Pass the intro screens, and go directly to How to adjust gamma. Go to Advanced display settings.Īdjust your window size so you can see your desktop and adjust graphical settings to your personal preferences. Go to Windows settings -> System -> Display.
Because NVIDIA drivers have their own graphical settings, and lower Apple monitors’ gamma too much. Fortunately, it can be solved pretty easily, by playing in windowed mode only and correcting the screen’s gamma. This issue seems specific to NVIDIA drivers. And your games such as the Sims 3 look even darker, almost unplayable. When you’ve installed drivers, you’ve probably noticed that the screen looks awfully dark. Do a clean install if this is the first time where you’re installing them on this partition. If you already haven’t done it, download up-to-date NVIDIA drivers on NVIDIA’s website. This tutorial will help you solving graphical issues specific to NVIDIA drivers and will prevent you from frying your GPU while playing the Sims 3. Or you could just turn off aging at the start of the game and not have to mess with it.This is the second part of the Bootcamp tutorial for the Sims 3. Or you can work on your Alchemy and make unlimited Fountain of Youth elixirs (requires Supernatural and does the same thing) for the cost of a few not-too-hard-to-find ingredients. The Young Again reward is kind of useless since you can make unlimited potions with Chemistry (requires Generations and they do cost a few thousand Simoleons each, though). Go back and click the sweet spot another 130 times to get the Age Freeze reward and you'll never age another day. Go buy a birthday cake at the grocery store and use it if you'd rather be at Day 1 of the Adult Stage. Click that spot about 140 more times and then take the Young Again lifetime reward (sets you back to Day 1 of the Young Adult stage). You'll know you've hit the right spot when your lifetime happiness points increase by 500 (sorry about the earlier figure - bad memory). Once in-game, go to the Lifetime Rewards tab and Ctrl+Click somewhere to the right of the treasure chest's lower right corner. The dialog asks how many days the Sim has been in the current age state, set it to anything from zero to the maximum length specified in the game's settings and accept the change.Īlternatively, enter the developer console (ctrl+shift+c) and type "testingcheatsenabled true" BEFORE loading your game. Once back in game, click the Sim again -> NRaas -> Master Controller -> Intermediate -> Age: Relative. Just to be on the safe side, I usually select an age state that I don't want and then click the one that I do want to make sure that it got the right message. On the Basics tab in CAS, select the age state you want, wait for the Sim to update on the stand, and then click the checkmark to get back out again. Click any Sim (it works on all of them) -> NRaas -> Master Controller -> Advanced -> Edit in CAS.
I use the MasterController mod with the Cheats add-on from NRaas.
